In the world, the number of spiders is more than 140 species. Usually, the spider bite looks like any insect bite where it is red in color and inflamed, and is itchy (scratching), or appears as a painful bump on the skin that may go unnoticed; But there are bites that cause skin wounds, and sometimes sores for other reasons such as bacterial infection. Among the dangerous spiders are black widow spiders and hermit spiders, which cause serious symptoms.

Black widow spider bites cause the following:

1- Pain, redness and swelling around the bite site and may spread to the abdomen, chest or back

2- Painful cramps in the abdomen that are misdiagnosed as an infection or a ruptured appendix

3- Nausea, vomiting, tremors, sweating, or feeling them all at the same time, and symptoms may last from one to three days. Symptoms of hermit spider bites include:

1- Increasing pain in the first eight hours after the bite

2- Fever, chills and pain in most parts of the body

3- Appearance of a wound that is pale in color in the center, turns dark blue or purple and is surrounded by a red ring

4- The bite wound turns into an open wound, i.e. ulcers and the death of the surrounding skin

A visit to the doctor is when the following happens to the injured person

1- As soon as the sting occurs

2- If the victim is not sure whether the bite was from a dangerous spider or not

3- If there is severe pain or cramping in the abdomen, or a wound that increases and expands at the site of the sting

4- Having trouble breathing or swallowing

5- The presence of red lines in the bite area The reason for a spider bite is the poison that the spider injects, its quantity, and how sensitive the body is to it

* A single bite from a black widow spider or a hermit spider may cause death directly and this is a very rare thing. As for the sunken wound as a result of a black widow spider bite, it may take several weeks or months and leave clear traces after healing

* You should pay attention to the following 1- Most of us, and perhaps all of us, do not know the forms of dangerous spiders, especially as they are more than 140 species 2- We may not find in the ocean in which we live who can deal with these bites, so the danger increases over time Accordingly, we advise the residents of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain to be aware of the dangers of spiders, as a matter of prevention in combating spiders, as some deserted areas and unexplored warehouses in our fields, farms and gardens in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain may nest in some types of dangerous or even less dangerous spiders; However, it is a source of harm, whatever its degree.
